Safety First Sep 03, 2010
After doing quite a bit of online research, I found the Graco TurboBooster seat to be rated in the top percentage of pretty much every site I found. That alone had me interested, but then, thankfully, my daughter actually liked the butterfly patter...well, that was the icing on the cake. The seat works great. It has two (retractable) cup holders. And the headrest sticks out far enough that when she falls asleep she now has somewhere to rest her head (instead of falling forward or to the side like in toddler seats). This is a great booster seat at an even better price.
good but not great Sep 01, 2010
I think for how much I paid is ok I just wish there would be more cushion for the child.
Great purchase Aug 31, 2010
Love this booster and my daughter loves it b/c she can be a big girl and strap herself in using the regular seatbelt. We bought the Britax Frontier booster for $220 on the diapers website as our primary booster b/c I didn't want to give up the 5 point harness, despite the fact that my daughter is 40 lbs / 4.5 yrs. So this was great for our 2nd vehicle, but it's also great for the primary if you're not attached to the 5 point harness.
Awesome booster! Aug 30, 2010
This booster seat is lightweight, easy to assemble, and easy to move from car to car. My four-year-old (who is 37 pounds and 43 inches tall) loves the cup holders that are just for her. She has fallen asleep in it many times, and although her head does bob forward, she hasn't complained of discomfort. This booster seat is well worth the price.
Own 2, Convenient, Kids Love Them! Aug 24, 2010
Wondering why the title to my review is glowing, but I only gave it 4 stars? I actually own 2 of these. One I purchased last year through Amazon as well for my 5 year old and this one for my daughter (had to have pink, so good thing it comes in that color). Overall, they get good marks with Comsumer Reports, the reviews on Amazon are good and generally, I think these are well made seats. My only concern is that the bottom of the booster is a bit too big and tends to want to push the buckle out away from the seat (this is the case in 3 different cars we have tried them in). Because the base is bigger, it is not quite as stable as I would like in the base of the seat. The "home" car is an Accord and it tends to have lots of wiggle, which concerns me for safety reasons. You have to really make sure you work it into the seat and it is firm before putting your child in it. In my Prius, the seat bottom is a bit wider and it accepts the seat better and feels like it fits more snugly.
It is a big adjustment going from child seats with the full restraints to something that gives them much more freedom of movement. Overall, for a booster, I think it is well made and durable and I like how the back can be removed later as they get older so it is a true booster; however, I would like to see the seat bottom just a bit narrower so more cars will accept it without having too much wiggle. I feel like the seat needs to feel snug since the only line defense in an accident is just the seat belt. If it is loose from the seat sliding any at all, it does put the kids at more risk. I'm not sure I wouldn't run into this issue with other similar booster seats, but once it is pushed down shugly into the seat, it seems to accept the seat belt better and I feel better. You will just have to try one for your car. They are all different, but my experience is that you may have the same problem in your car.
